AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

• AFTER-SCHOOL CARE – The “Schools Out” After-School Program is a Pa. State Licensed program for children from age 5 –12 years old.  It covers those hard to manage hours from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. when statistically, most juvenile crimes occur and while parents are still working and unable to look after their children. 

How does our program differ from the others in the area?

The majority of after-school programs in the area are held inside of the school building where children are spending the entire day in classroom type settings.  They are unable or not permitted to release built-up energy from being in school all day.  We put them in a setting of fun and recreation, thus getting them out of the classroom.

How do we get your child - and what will they do here?   

The children are picked up when school is dismissed by a fully licensed and insured limousine-van service and transported to our facility where they are welcomed by our friendly, fully trained staff.  The staff will have the children begin (but not complete) their homework for the day. 

Once the specified time allowance for homework has been met the children have will have various other activities at their disposal to keep them occupied.  Children can play ball or take part in activities in our gymnasium, go swimming in our indoor pool on specific days, spend time in our game room, play organized games and trivia, watch appropriately rated video movies from our collection, etc.  A daily snack and drink is provided for all children in the program. 

Just being outside of the school setting enables your child to have an energy burst that will have them settled down by the time they get home and need to finish their homework projects.

What about those troublesome Early Dismissal days?

We do pick up the children when schools are regularly scheduled for an early dismissal at a slightly higher fee, however, parents do have the option of making other arrangements for those days.

*** NOTE – We DO NOT pick up children from school when an early dismissal occurs due to weather related conditions or emergency closings of schools.
